Ancient Drums To Sound In Japan

I don’t know much about this event, only what I’ve read in the press release, , but from the sound of it, a wonderful three day celebration of Mother Earth is in store for visitors (including Web visitors) to Japan’s Sado Island from August 19-21.

The drum group Kodo will play their traditional and sacred Japanese drums, the taiko, during their annual “Earth Celebration” event. There will be some serious sound reverberating from these huge drums! It seems quite timely, too, that the event is to honor the Earth Mother, and is taking place following the wake of disasters that hit (and continue to inflict damage on) Japan, its people and the wider world. Many of the concerts, which will also feature international musicians, will be streamed live.

This is also a wonderful opportunity to sound your drums during this time in order to join in honoring the Earth and to pray for peace and healing in Japan and everywhere.

Lightning News Confirms Your Awesomeness

Shamanic healers, philosophers and gurus have long understood and marveled at the spiritual essence of lightning, and of course, it is lightning which underlies every shamanic drum I make. So I am always on the lookout for information related to this awesome force.

Well, here's something new from what science is discovering and what mystics have known for centuries— lightning is transformational.

My recent foray into lightning news started with an article on the "Signs of the Times" Website, where you'll find alternative science, UFOs, conspiracy theories, and a host of other stuff. The article, "Earth's Tallest Lightning Seen In Unprecedented Detail," reveals scientific evidence indicating a lightning bolt can travel more than 56 miles—up! At that distance, it is on the very edge of our planet's atmospheric envelope and tip-toeing along the border with space.

A link in that article takes you to the Our Amazing Planet site and an article, "How Lightning Sparks High-Energy Bursts." That's where we learn that Einstein's equation of E=mc2 gets respect by positing that energy can be changed into mass, and vice versa. And in this case, it is the lightning changing itself into antimatter. Another link takes you to the Live Science site and an article, "Thunderstorms on Earth Hurl Anti-Matter Into Space," which reports the formation of lightning-generated antimatter particle beams, as in Star Trek, etc.

All of this, of course, underlies the powerful medicine available from Spirit’s transformational union of Earth and Sky, the two lovers, the archetypal mill wheel of destruction and creation, the Ain Soph Aur, the manifestation of All That Is.

It is indeed a transformational moment when we realize our own creation begins with a spark of light becoming matter, or as the Kaballah says, “God made manifest on the ground.” And no matter the temporary form we may take, we will always be light.
